Baldwin Park Mahjong is Central Florida’s Home for Traditional Chinese Mahjong, bringing together players of all backgrounds and skill levels since 2019. We are rooted in the rich tradition of Hong Kong style mahjong and deeply committed to sharing Asian culture through the beauty of this ancient game.

What is Mahjong? 🀄

Mahjong is a traditional Chinese game played by four players with a set of 144 beautifully decorated tiles. It’s a game of skill, strategy, and a touch of luck — where players draw and discard tiles to build winning hands. With a rich history spanning centuries and fascinating regional variations across Asia, mahjong is more than a game. It’s a living cultural tradition. Mahjong made its way to the United States in the 1920s where it evolved into its own distinct American style, beloved by millions and woven into American cultural history as well.

What We Play

Our specialty and foundation is Hong Kong style Chinese mahjong — the traditional game passed down through generations. We embrace the full family of mahjong traditions including Taiwanese, Sichuan, Fujianese, Riichi, Filipino, and American mahjong. Every style has a seat at our table. Our instruction currently focuses on Asian mahjong styles, but no matter how you play, you are welcome here. American mahjong players, just bring your own set and cards and come join the fun!
